Shortly after the news that AT&T's Galaxy Note 3 and
Sprint's HTC One is finally getting a taste of KitKat, LG Korea has officially
started rolling out the update for its G Flex
The Android 4.4 KitKat update brings a number of new
features to the LG G Flex in addition to LG’s new Knock Code, just as the
company promised earlier this week, allowing the user to wake up the phone and
bypass the security code with a few taps on the screen, even when the display
is turned off.
In addition to a boost in overall system performance, some
improvements have been added to the Bluetooth Car-Kit as it should now display
notifications when receiving a message and it will also show albums when
playing music. The changelog does not mention anything about 4K video recording
as previously rumored, but hopefully LG will release it as part of another
software update sometime in the future.
LG G Flex owners in South Korea can get the update
over-the-air by going to the upgrade center and navigating to "Menu"
> "Phone version upgrade." For the rest of us, this is a big step
towards the update arriving in additional markets.
