Sony has finally started updating its last year Xperia
flagship, the Xperia Z1 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat globally, this comes as a treat
for all the customers who felt left behind as Samsung and HTC already updated
their 2013 flagships to KitKat. The update will as usual roll out in phases so
don’t get bothered if you aren’t presently downloading it, its on its way. The
software version for this update is 14.3.A.0.681 in case you wan’t to confirm

If you wish to check for the update manually then you can do
so by going to Settings > About phone > Software updates. If
your Xperia Z1 is carrier bound then it may take a little more time for this
update to be available to you as it has to be approved and tested by your
