The Android platform, it’s one of the biggest open source
operating system our generation could have ever seen. Starting from mobile
devices, then to Tablets and now to our very own Laptops/netbooks/PC, Android
has expanded it’s empire to almost every hardware. Needless to say, emulators
are still there to help us run our best apps on PC, but running the entire
Android platform on x86 computer architecture will just blow your mind. Before
wasting any time, let’s see How to Install Android KitKat 4.4 on PC
Note: Android-x86 is an unofficial build of
Android operating system developed to work on Intel’s x86 system architecture.
Moreover Android x86 is not limited to PC only, other hardware like virtual
machines are also compatible with it.

Before we begin, you need:
- Android
x86 ISO (Download from here).
- Bootable
Flash drive/CD/DVD.
- Appropriate
space available on your PC/Laptop.
- For
installing Froyo, Gingerbread and ICS: 2GB
- For
installing Jelly Bean: 8GB
- For
installing KitKat 4.4: 10GB
- UNetbootin
for creating Flashable thumb drive. (Download UNetbootin from here).
How to Install Android KitKat 4.4 on PC:
- Done
with Installing Android x86 and UNetbootin? If yes, follow the guide
provided below.
- It’s
time to Create a bootable Flash drive using UNetbootin and the ISO image
of Android x86 that you have downloaded above. You just need to
select Diskimage button redirect it to the ISO file
- Reboot
your laptop/PC making USB Flash Drive as a your source.
- A Menu
will appear, select Install Android x86 from it.
- Now,
select the partition you wish to install Android x86 on.
- You’ll
be noticing some prompts for installation of GRUB bootloader. Make sure
you allow each of them.
- You’ll
be seeing another prompt for making system /r/w. Please select Yes.
- Finally
Reboot your PC.
Congratulations, you have set up dual boot laptop/PC. Switch
to Windows and then to Android anytime you wish.
