How to Update Samsung Galaxy Gio to Android 4.4 KitKat [GT-S5660]

Android 4.4 KitKat has released from a long time; however not much phones got this on them and mostly new phones are coming with this OS. If you own Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 and thinking to get this update than you couldn’t get it officially; however in this tutorial I’ll tell the instructions on how you can update your phone to the Android KitKat.

Pre-requisites:

• Your phone should be charged at least 80% before proceeding to the tutorial.
• Your phone must be rooted and have latest CWM installed.
• Backup everything whatever you’ll need later, including contacts, messages etc.

Step 1 – Download Root file and move that to your phone’s Memory Card.

Step 2 – Turn off your phone and boot into Recovery Mode by pressing Home + Power Key and hold it till your phone boot.

Step 3 – Now, in the Main Menu of Recovery Mode select Apply Updates from SD Card, and choose the downloaded root file.

Step 4 – When it asks for confirmation, simply select Yes and you’re done!

How to Install CWM on Samsung Galaxy Gio?

Step 1 – Download CWM Package and move that to your phone’s Memory Card.

Step 2 – Boot into Recovery Mode.

Step 3 – Now select Install from SD Card and then choose the CWM Package you have recently downloaded.

Step 4 – Now reboot your phone, and you’re done!
