How to Root Nokia X and Install Google Play [Ultimate Guide]

At MWC 2014 in Barcelona Nokia Announced three new android smartphones Nokia X, X+ and XL. All these are the first android smartphone from the Nokia after the Windows phone. Within a few hours developer was able to install Google Play Services on the Nokia X without much hassle. All these Nokia Android smartphone comes without the Google Apps. But now you can install them easily on the Nokia X, all you need a rooted device and install the Google apps pack on your device.

In this guide we’ll show you how you can easily root the Nokia X and Install Google Play apps. The root process is simple and take a few minutes to get the root access on the device. Once you rooted the device you can install lots of tweaks and modification on the phone.

Pre-Requisites And Requirements

Before following the below Mention guide, It’s always recommended to follow our pre-requisites and requirement to stay safe.

1. BACKUP YOUR ANDROID DATA

HOW TO ROOT NOKIA X WITH FRAMAROOT

Step 1. To get the root access download the Framaroot app here and save the file on your desktop.

Step 2. Move the file on your Nokia X Android phone and and install it. If you are prompted to enable Unknown Sources option, do it.

Step 3. Once the app is installed on the phone, open the app and Tap the Gandalf exploit and Choose Install SuperSu from the drop-down list.

That’s it, Your Nokia X is rooted now. Next step is to install the Google play apps.

INSTALL GOOGLE APPS ON NOKIA X

Step 1. Download the Google app package for Nokia X here and extract the folder on your desktop.

Step 2. Download and Install a root file manager on your device. You need this app to change the permission of the Google apps.

Step 3. Now copy all the APK files to /system/app folder on you phone.

Step 4. Now change the permission of the apk files with Root Browser app which you installed on Step 2,  go to each app that you just copied and set the permissions for each as rw-r–r– (0644). See the screenshot below


That’s it, Now the Google app are installed on the phone and you can enjoy the Google store application on the new Nokia X android smartphone
