Step 1 - Download Chainfire to root Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware and save the file to your computer and make sure to store it to an easy to find place like Desktop. Now extract the zip file downloaded by you.

Step 2- And then download ODIN V3.09 from this link to be used for rooting the official firmware installed on your smartphone.

Step 3 - Shut down your device to enter the Download Mode,  to do so please press these buttons: Volume Down + Home + Power, keep holding them now press till the Android Robot along with the triangle appear on your screen. For confirmation, you need to press the Volume UP button once again, now you are inside the Download Mode.

Step 4 - Now launch ODIN from your PC, then plug your device to your PC (Make sure that your device is in the Download Mode before plugging to computer).

Step 5 - If you managed to connect your computer to your device in the download mode, you will then see your ID:COM box become yellow followed with COM port number. This phase will take sometime thus just wait.

Step 6 - Now select the following files to be flashed (the files you previously extracted from the step

• Tap on ‘AP’, then choose this; CF-Auto-Root-jfltespr-jfltespr-sphl720.zip.tar.md5 or tar.md5.

Step 7- Now you need to check Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options from ODIN. And leave other options intact.

Step 8 - From ODIN, click the Start button for the installation to be started. This process will take some time therefore just wait.

Step 9 - When finished installing, your device should reboot into Recovery Mode automatically then install the root files. You will see that the ID:COM will become green.
